Lady Cat first to earn top honors

Lady Blackcat senior Alison Webb has become the first Goreville basketball player in the program’s history to be named 1st Team All-State by both the Associated Press and the Illinois Basketball Coaches Association.  Webb was also named “MVP” of the Black Diamond Conference West for the second year in a row as the 6’ center helped lead the Lady Blackcats Basketball team to four-straight Regional and Conference Titles and three-straight “Elite 8” appearances in the Illinois High School Sports Association Supersectional scoring more than 1,500 points in her career.  Webb was honored during halftime of the IHSA State Girls Basketball Tournament Championship at Illinois State University in Bloomington.
