Junior Cats maintain perfect season

The Goreville Junior High baseball team improved its season record to 8-0 by picking up a pair of wins the last week of August.  On Thursday, Aug. 29, the Junior Blackcats defeated Jonesboro 15-3, then on the next day, Goreville beat Unity Point by the score of 16-1.  Last week, the Junior Blackcats boosted their mark to 12-0 with a 16-0 win over Century, and a 9-1 victory over Johnston City.

Goreville is scheduled to host an S.I.C. Tournament game this Wednesday against Meridian, with the tourney concluding on Saturday at Jonesboro.  The Junior Blackcats will return to regular season action next Tuesday at Coben.
