The season ended for the Goreville High School volleyball team at Thursday’s (Oct. 31) Carrier Mills Class 1A regional championship match, as top-seeded Crab Orchard defeated the Lady Blackcats in two sets, 25-17, 25-20.  The Lady Trojans jumped out to early leads in both sets before Goreville rallied to get within 12-11 in the first set, and 12-10 in the second, but the Lady Blackcats could get no closer in either set.  Goreville reached the regional title contest by defeating Gallatin County on Tuesday, 25-11, 25-18.

Goreville completed its season with a 15-11 overall record and were 7-5 in the conference, to finish behind Christopher and Trico who had identical 11-1 marks in the BDC West Division.
