Jr. Blackcats heading to state after claiming regional title

The Goreville Junior High School Blackcats defeated the Cobden Appleknockers Saturday in the SIJHSAA Boys Class M Basketball Regional championship game by a score of 63-40.  This marks the tenth time in a row the Jr. Blackcats have advance to State.  The Junior Blackcats’ first game at state is scheduled for Friday, Feb. 7 at Rend Lake College with a game time of 3:30 p.m.  “The entire team played a great game,” coach Eric Messmer said.  “We started with a 20 to 0 run to start the first quarter and the team never let up.
