Goreville JH 8th Grade Graduates Celebrate
This past Friday evening was a time of joy and celebration for the past year’s 8th grade students of Goreville Grade School. It marked the completion of one phase of their lives and the entrance into new and unchartered territory, high school.
They will cross over to the exciting world of driver’s licenses, proms and homecoming celebrations, and developing their own future goals. But it will not be without its pitfalls.
They had endured so much and worked so hard to reach the top of their mountain, finally being the kings and queens in 8th grade, but now will become pawns again, inexperienced and lowly freshmen.
But the joy greatly outweighed any trepidation. And judging by the smiles and laughter of both students and families, it was one of the greatest times of their lives to date.
Look out high school, here comes the class of 2019 to your classrooms and hallways! Eyes wide with wonder and hearts ready to experience what will likely be the times they will remember forever, this group is forging ahead to a new frontier.
